"The Stars and Splice for Ever: Starsplicer 1".

'Starsplicer 1', was a 200 square foot roadside Artwork, installed on a billboard on the City side of the ‘Waterloo International’ Viaduct, over the  Westminster Bridge Road roundabout, between April 4th and May 1st 2OOO. The initial design at only A3 prepared in my Studio in Derby was then  Drum scanned to 50Mb. In Manchester the 10’ x 20’ image was printed in 48 sections from a CD Rom, then installed in London by Mills and Allen Ltd.

'Starsplicer 1' was then physically created  in the manner of a conventional billboard, and in one sense, it was an advertisement for my Work. It was however and remains, significantly, a Work, in and of itself, by being the first of a set of 12 Star manipulations and montages Starsplicers I - XII,  just on a much larger scale. In the September of 2OO2 I put my second Billboard installation up in the Cathedral quarter of Liverpool as part of the  2OO2 Liverpool Biennale.

At the time I was looking for my first Solo Show in London, so it was conceived both as a marketing opportunity and as a true installation making London itself my gallery. On it appeared the text:  "Galleries of London, this Artist seeks a Gallery"A photograph of the piece appeared in ARTReview and it was reviewed in Emanations. Following these I published 4 of the photographs as ARTfax 6 to many people in the London Art world. Within a Month I was contacted by  Rohan Stanley and Rebecca Neill,  the Directors of London’s STUFF Gallery in  Bethnal Green, offering  me a Show !

In the September of 2OOO I took part in their group show ‘STUFFED’ and in the October they curated 'This Elemental Art' , my long hoped for first London solo.
