The Presentation 3.6

‘Elementalism is…’

An Artist’s Statement

-

Elementalism is the Formal and Analytical conception, of

a Geometric Composition in an aesthetic of Pure Shape.

-

Elementalism investigates Shape as the fundamental component

of Form in an understanding of perception in an aesthetic of Pure Form.

-

Elementalism is the derivation of Form as a percept of some

possible aesthetic of Pure Shape.

-

The concept of Shape is Elemental to Form.

-

The End of Elementalism is to Present and understand a Geometric Aesthetic of Pure Shape. To show that Beauty is a judgement of Elegance and that Elegance is an attribute of Form - being itself derivable as a percept of an Aesthetic of Pure Shape and hence Proposing

An Aesthetic of Pure form.

The last part of the presentation is ‘New British OP’ - a list of those artist that have influenced me and whom I love. I Hold these people as the foundations of my sensibility in Art. This is my Homage to influence. Isaac Newton once said, that he ‘saw so far now because he stood on the shoulders of giants’.

We, Artists of Late, are so privileged.
